Hyundai India launches new Fluidic Sonata priced at Rs. 18.53 lakhs

The country’s second-largest car maker, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched a new version of its premium sedan Sonata, the manual transmission variant being priced at Rs 18.53 lakh and the automatic transmission at Rs 20.61 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The all new Sonata was unveiled at the 11th Auto Expo in January this year and since then the company has received a large number of enquiries. “The all new Sonata powered by our GDi engine offers best-in-class features. Competitively priced the Sonata offers a stylish new choice to the premium customer,” Mr. B S Seo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) said. New Hyundai Sonata The sixth generation new Sonata, follows the fluidic design philosophy and derives inspiration from the orchid flower. The side profile looks impressive, very rich and luxurious. The standard features includes 17-inch alloy wheels, HID headlamps with washer, LED tail-lamps, dual-tone beige interiors, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, power seats, push button start and a double-din Audio player with an in-dash six-CD changer. Under the hood it carries a 2.4-litre GDi petrol engine which produces 201PS of power and is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. GDi technology results in enhanced performance and fuel efficiency as the high pressure fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber. The engineering excellence is extended to the suspensions by way of having hi-tech ASD (Amplitude Selective Damper) resulting in improved driving comfort. As far as safety is concerned, Hyundai have kitted it with six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP) with traction control system (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) along with a rear view camera. The Sonata competes with the likes of the Honda Accord and the Skoda Superb.
